Tumultuous Thursdays: My Reincarnation Series-Can People Reincarnate as Animals or Trees or Other Assortment of Flora and Fauna?

Image of Green Twist Fractal courtesy this site

Today on Tumultuous Thursdays I'm turning about a question in not only my head but also that of a commentator's head. Someone choosing to remain anonymous asked on my The Works of Dr. Brian Weiss Reincarnation blog if we at Meady's Musings and whoever reads us ever wonder about if humans could reincarnate as animals or trees or plants...or well you get the picture! :)

So today I answer...from a personal point of view which is perhaps always the best place although of course most of our perceptions and points of view are usually moulded by some other thought out there...we're all an interconnected web...not just in the blogosphere or on the Internet but in the Universe at large! But either way all we can have is our point of view...wherever it currently stands in time...it is at that point what it is...so here it is...here it is:

I do believe trees have souls...and I think this is something that I would have grown up believing growing up Hindu but it is a feeling I have from them too...it perhaps is no doubt influenced from my Hindu upbringing but they seem to have such presence...especially the majestic ones they seem like they have grand souls in them! A belief I also draw from Hinduism is the souls that choose to incarnate into trees must be great spirits! First of all the ones in the grand trees have to have the patience to stay in one incarnation for hundreds of years! And trees are considered to be ultimate seva (Hindu concept of service) givers! And I mean they don't take much and give back so much more...shade, shelter, food, all sorts of things for hundreds of years! :)

But hmmm...to answer the question can a human say, incarnate eventually as a tree? I'd say YES! Since to me we are all just the same spirit in essence but it seems for some reason unknownest to me...some souls they don't see this...they think they have to be different, separate...individualistic even...away from the oneness of spirit...some think they are better while others think they are lesser...some think they are smarter...some think they simply don't belong...

I think one of my favourite quotes that is Buddhist in origin best explains it...

'A myriad bubbles were floating on the surface of a stream. 'What are you?' I cried to them as they drifted by. 'I am a bubble, of course' nearly a myriad bubbles answered, and there was surprise and indignation in their voices as they passed. But, here and there, a lonely bubble answered, 'We are this stream', and there was neither surprise nor indignation in their voices, but just a quiet certitude.' - Ask the Awakened by Wei Wu Wei

So all the souls that are like these nearly myriad bubbles well they by their prakriti (nature in Hinduism) start to accumulate individuality...matter starts to cloud their matterless souls...and they take on bodies...they come to a place like here on earth where they can hoard matter, manipulate it, design it, create things with it...it's not necessarily 'evil' but just what must be...so they can learn their lessons...mete out their karma until they themselves realise they were simply part of the greater spirit and at that time they rejoin...it makes sense from a metaphysical point of view to me...they come on earth to let out their steam so to speak...sometimes it is anger but sometimes it can be nice things too like sometimes you want to create something so you come to the material plane where you can let out that energy too...like on a sculpture or a building or to write a book so others can be guided say to come back to the big spirit...or a beautiful piece of music that would inspire this...but one thing in common with all great creations like that is they are aligned with the greater spirit and you can see the greater spirit echoed in them...they are the great ones and they also inspire and guide souls back to 'the oneness' that is the greater spirit!

Because you see sometimes such creation is needed to guide some souls that are so away from spirit and lost in matter that they have totally forgotten their original and true spirit forms! :(

So as a whole souls fall off and come to the material and earthly planes...they land so to speak...and start up their business...the bodies they take up are based on what they are meant to explore here based on their prakriti (nature of their spirit)...sometimes they must come to help out others or because they were attracted to others who chose to land and all sorts of things...but they land!

And the form they take up yes I believe can be a myriad of flora and fauna...I also believe it might be very possible that there are many other planets on the same material plane as earth where souls take form...so souls more than likely exist not only as all the flora and fauna on Planet Earth but on other material planets in the Universe!

I think the material forms our souls come into that simply start to grow on our souls as we land on the material planes...well of course there is the biology of it so this happens in a way we can see and study in the material plane i.e. pregnancies etc...but for the soul it is just matter coiling around it!

And I think the choice of matter is based on what we need to work out here on planet earth...so if we are just a noble soul who wants to give, give and give and is willing to give up its free dancing spirit and sit on the material plane for years and years we come as a giant tree! It is why we should salute our trees as they contain such great spirit or perhaps spirits!

Then I think some spirits that just want to test out earth comes as insects and stuff so is why they come in such forms that have short life spans...or it could also be great souls that had this one thing left to sort out before they rejoined the great spirit so they come as an ant for about a few hours before they are crushed by a human. Or maybe they had to come as the ant so the human could crush it and learn some lesson or mete out some karma that existed between both souls.

I think you can go on and on about this choice of soul and what life form it manifests as here on earth...but I think for sure whatever form it takes on earth is exactly the form it needed to mete out its karma! So it is in the human form that coils around us too...so like I came on earth as a woman of just over five feet with the desire to write perhaps etc etc...after this lifetime I may have found that I didn't relax enough say and I'd come back as a silly, stretchy cat for a few years...lazing about all over the place because I wanted to see how it would be to be like that...of course I'd then also have to deal with all the fear and aggression that exists in a cat's body too! YUCK! Please Universe don't let me come back as a nasty, ole cat...LOL!

But yes I do believe us souls can exist in any form of flora or fauna or as humans or as other beings on other planets no yet known to man! And also if I hate cats say I might really come back as one say to understand their nature better? Also I get from Hinduism that whatever is on our minds when we die and are being chosen to move forward plays a big part as to where our soul will land...I think is why in Hinduism they say to die with the lips of God on your mouth but I think God is the Universe itself so we will end up somewhere in the Universe based on the thought, wishes, desires, unfinished business we have...and we get the exact body to deal with it!

So when we come on earth or other material planes we should try to find out why we came here and get to using the body...because hey why mess around?! But even if we don't do it right...well we'll just get another body! As much as others will not have you believe...the Universe is infinite and time is irrelevent so just go on and have fun! It's just not nice to be stuck in a rut though so try not to be too reckless in the Universe as it can sometimes be uncomfortable if we take too many wrong turns in a row...but be assured it will all work out in the end! :)

Tumultuous Thursdays: My Reincarnation Series-'Past Life'- A New Series on Fox!

As promised on Thursdays I continue to talk about all things metaphysical...and following through on my Reincarnation Series would be one of those things. However today I have this wonderful surprise for ya! I'm going to let you know about the exciting news for those of you who want to dabble into the realm of reincarnation from another perspective not just by books and blogs and hard core research but to have a bit of fun with it...to tickle your imagination or entertainment buds!

And the news is...Fox is premiering their own entire series on reincarnation this Feb in the form of the TV series "Past Life"! Now I have to tell ya at first I was a bit skeptical about doing this blog...I mean I wondered was this making all the stuff about reincarnation light? But I did my research about this series and it changed my mind...

My first glance at the previews for this series gives me the feel of a mix between Ghost Whisperer and Cold Case with a touch of Medium...all series that I can enjoy from time to time...

It seems like the supernaturalness and sensitivity of Ghost Whisperer meeting the crime solving parts of Cold Case with the nostalgic (back in time) pulls they have on Cold Case you know where they show you how the people looked then and how they look now...when the case is solved etc...I always liked that bit of Cold Case the best. And well I can see this series having a lot of nostalgia...how it was back then and how it is now...except this time you aren't just going back in the person's lifetime but into a next! It's like Cold Case on steroids then! :)

And in terms of its similar elements to Ghost Whisperer while from the previews I can't say if it is going to be as sensitive and sweet as that series...I mean you really feel the love and emotion in that show...and the hurt...for sure this series is going to be exploring that. The preview seems to suggest where families are going to be searching for answers to what happened to their dead loved ones...and they are going to be finding it with the help of science and pseudo science...metaphysics. Families will reunite and get these answers and then say goodbye again as the persons move on in their new 'clothes' or reincarnations so to speak! :)The team helping them will consist of a detective, a psychologist with a knack for reading people and a smart ass medical doctor (neurologist)!

But I have to tell ya what had me more than hooked to giving this series a whirl is that same smart ass medical doctor! Not while in his character but whilst talking about his character in his real life form as Ravi Patel!:) Check this interview out about him talking about his character in the show. And in terms of his views on reincarnation...being Hindu myself too I can so relate to his point of view about it...

However do you believe in reincarnation?

Don't forget to continue participating in the poll on the left! And keep checking this space for further talks on Reincarnation!

And you can catch the series PAST LIFE two-night premiere on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 9/8c and Thursday, Feb. 11 at 9/8c on FOX!

Leaving On a Jet Plane...

Just a brief note to let my followers know that I'm off on a short vacation...know on the whole I've not been blogging often and it is for sure not as often as I would like...as in there is quite a bit I'd like to put forward here but only when I have enough time to hone my thoughts, ideas and feelings...meditate on them...well muse on them before I type...On my vacation as I mentioned here when I spoke about my camera I hope to visit a certain cavernous place and so you can look forward to pics of that hopefully if all goes well when I get back. As mentioned then on the whole you can expect to see lots more from me picture taking wise after I get that camera and perhaps video capturing wise as well...

Here is just a snapshot of other coming soons that are playing around in my musing head...

-Continuation of My Reincarnation Series and I pledge to stick with it this time...

-Talks on Parallel Lives...Parallel Universes...remember when I talked about Sliders and many, many, many, many Babitas...infinitely large numbers of Babita Dubays here! :)

-Talks about the Mother fluid...like I touched on here.

Also sadly I won't be able to take part in the Intention Experiment this time around as it will be on just as I end my jet plane journey to another land...but please check that lady Lynne Mc Taggart and her Intention Experiment to clean up polluted water somewhere on the globe right here! :) How cool an experiment it is! :)

So looking forward to musing with you guys again in early July! :) When I didn't have the words to talk about my parallel lives a certain blogger friend created this parallel universe for me and others to play in here and it was such fun...and since I hope to see racoons, bunnies and perhaps who knows badgers, hedgehogs/porcupines even on my trip...you can check out this link to his Wonkie cartoons and the picture in that wonderful universe is the picture that goes up as my blog picture for today! :)

For those of you who engage in Universal Collective Prayer with me on my sister blog click here to check out my plans for over there...

See you soon! :)

Reincarnation Series: The Works of Dr. Brian Weiss

When I first mentioned Reincarnation on this blog in the very beginnings back in Jun 2008 under my 2nd blog post ever Do You Believe in Reincarnation? I had just finished reading some of the works of Dr. Brian Weiss. I may have heard of his work previous to my reads perhaps on Oprah and the likes but had not read any of his works until the first half of 2008. I can't say exactly how I stumbled on to buying and reading his books but I know I went on this special reading journey and I bought all of his books off Amazon so they may have kept recommending books for me in groups...of course they are such marketing geniuses over there! :)And of course I'm always reading many books but I think there was this voracious, intense period that started when in Dec 07 I was browsing in my favourite(non-virtual)book store and my eyes fell upon this title- Joy:The Happiness that Comes from Within. Immediately it reminded me of something someone had said to me many years before and I bought and read it. It was my first discovery of the world of the radical '70s guru out of India OSHO. I quickly after reading that kept looking for other titles by OSHO and subsequently bought and read the OSHO title From Sex to Superconsciousness. Then I subscribed to the online OSHO library and read more of his teachings. All I know it was after that batch of reading that I got into the reincarnation readings and started with the work of Brian Weiss.

I figure I stumbled upon Dr.Brian Weiss because he was so famous and I perhaps like the majority of the world continued with him as a first choice because as I wrote on my first post about this topic he was on Oprah, he was a doctor and a psychiatrist at it and had the sticker of approval of education from Ivy League schools in the US and the bigger sticker of endorsement from the American Medical Association.

To be honest though so much further along the journey it really doesn't matter as you might realise Dr. Brian Weiss himself might say. However one reason that I chose to read him too which is still a valid point for me today is that he grew up in a Judeo-Christian society and is from a Christian background. So to me he is one of those, unlike me, who had to cross the fence of his religion to believe in Reincarnation. Therefore to me he took more convincing and to me that makes it more convincing that there is this thing called reincarnation because he was converted to believe. To me that says what convinced Dr. Weiss had to truly be a phenomenon and not something born out of generations of mental conditioning! Also Dr. Weiss had to risk losing the respect he earned from getting those stickers of approval from Yale, Columbia and the AMA to let us know what happened to him. So that also makes me want to believe him from janam to janam...birth to birth! :)

What makes me question Dr. Weiss at times however is that most of his writings are about his patients who go way back in time only and usually are living in these fabulous, exotic eras. No they aren't famous figures themselves but they live in sweeping epic times so far away that no one can verify the authenticity of their descriptions. How come none of his documented stories has patients speaking about their incarnation just before this one perhaps a simple house maker in my little ole island of Trinidad in the 19th century perhaps? As you will see the journalist, Thomas Shroder who wrote a book I later read Old Souls also wonders the same thing and perhaps he made me question Dr. Weiss' work a bit more when I read his book but he himself was no doubt going on to endorse reincarnation. And perhaps he was just uncovering his own piece of the puzzle a work to compliment Dr. Weiss'?

I have read three of Dr. Weiss' books:

-Many Lives, Many Masters
-Only Love is Real
-Same Soul Many Bodies

Of the three reads I guess I'd have to say I liked Only Love is Real the most but of course it wouldn't have made sense or I would not have believed if I didn't read his first work ever first-Many Lives, Many Masters. But yep I guess everybody loves a good love story so surely Only Love is Real will be many readers fav. But also it has some clear definable things in this story. I mean Only Love is Real goes a step beyond in proving reincarnation cause here you have the evidence that it wasn't just going on in Elizabeth or Pedro's head because they both had parallel similar verifiable experiences. You have to pardon me because I've read these books about a year ago and their details do not live in me as when I had just finished them...but I guess also everybody just loves the idea of soulmates and that there is someone out there from everyone. I find it a lovely idea and ideal too but then often wonder well look at the real world how do things end up like this if that really exists?! But I still believe! :)

Another thing I initially found far fetched in Dr. Weiss' works in the book- Same Soul Many Bodies is the idea that one soul could be living in several bodies at the same time leading parallel lives right now! I now find it much easier to believe however! Say what...you live and you learn! :) I now believe that apart from that we are not only like that but that there are infinite planes of existence based on choices we make in life and at each juncture there is a life being lived that is different to yours where an aspect of you lives on that plane where the choice was different! Add the choices of others onto that and you begin to understand what infinity is and why it can't be grasped yet alone defined! I don't want to complicate this already tough topic further but ...in other words infinite numbers of Babitas out there leading parallel lives on different planes! :) Sometimes I feel like I can feel the other Babitas just in a kinda subtle way! :) And of course you all know it too and it has been the stuff of many versions of Sci Fi things already one of the most famous shows being Sliders where the stars are sliding in and out of various versions of San Franciso sadly their own version is lost to them and they are trying to get back to it! :) So this Babita please stay put right here...ahh the power of Mr. Eckhart Tolle's Now! :)

Also in that same book of Dr. Weiss' Same Soul, Many Bodies I'm a bit iffy as to how easily he says people can go back into their past lives through regression...just relax lie back close your eyes and voila! Swell if it can be true though but I'd always be self skeptical that I wasn't just putting my wishful thinking into it! :) Darn a toughie it always is when you aren't sure if you can trust yourself! Also I don't know Dr. Weiss...projecting into the future? But yep that's what he also mainly talks about in Same Soul, Many Bodies.

But really if we are a soul we should not be bounded by time and so should we not be able to jump back and forward in it and also not exist in one plane alone? So I guess our souls can be 'Sliders' like in the TV show and Time Travelers without the need of any gizmos?

But really all of this is just preamble to the lovely chat and discussion I am hoping this will create...so come on now don't be shy let us create a lovely tapestry of thought on this reincarnation that could never be store bought! :)And Adriana my Mexican friend please tell us about the time you met the good doctor yourself! :)

Later on I hope to talk about the other books and other people who have done work in this area and documented it. The next one up will be the documented case of Shanti Devi which to me is the real deal! And the book I bought on it at Amazon at a price that was a real steal! :)

Advent Calendar:6th Day of Christmas-The Gift of The New Year!

In the universal sense I figure time is irrelevant but we social humans like to count as I spoke about in my previous post on my Birthday which was also a time for counting...and I guess I can't be counted out of that too cause look at me I have polls up on my blogs! The Santa one I have on Universal Collective Prayer won't close till Christmas closes as in all the days of Christmas are done. And the angels one I will leave it up till the same time it started in 2008 i.e. 365 days. However some of the polls are more or less finished in a few hours...it seems as when I set them they were on Pacific Time or something but I'm at -4 GMT officially so the New Year will ring in here in about 4.5 hours. So I figured I'd summarize my polls now before I go off to spend some time with family...here are the summaries:

The Best Chocolate in the World?

I only got 4 votes...less face it my blog is struggling just today I realised Google has down its rank from 3 to 2 :( But hey this was always just my musings and I'm glad whatever fun and participation I get! :) So yep with a total of 4 votes it was tie between Valrhona and Green and Black both with two votes each...on this poll I allowed a person to choose one to all as favs so one person could have voted for one fav or for up to eleven! I voted for 4 favs as I couldn't decide chocoholic am I! :)

Tell me what is your favourite coffee in the whole wide world and why?
Well my Hong Wing Coffee group members on Facebook will be proud although it appeared as if some Blogger techie guy or form of artificial intelligence tried to tamper with that poll today...hmmm....!:)But yep Hong Wing came out on top with a total of four votes! :) This poll was set up where you could vote for one and only one fav. and the total number of votes on this was slightly more than on the choc one with a total of 10 votes! :)

Do you believe in reincarnation?

Although in 2008 I never got around to starting my Reincarnation series I'm quite proud of the participation in and the results of this poll! Voters were only allow to day yes or no on this poll no maybes and I got 9 people saying yes and 3 no. So YES IT IS! And yep I will do the series next year for sure! :)
Reincarnation

I'd also like to let you know that the Santa poll is doing fine so far with a total of 10 votes in the short space of time it ran as I only put it up in mid Dec ...will give you the official result when it closes on the Epiphany!

So not much more musings bout me personally on here though...I stopped making New Year's resolution many years ago and not sure if I was ever into them....I mean really polls aside just for fun what's in a number? So I live my life where I do as it may come! So I'm reinventing, redoing, restarting, rebirthing all kinda returning and thinging...all year through as we all are really! So what's the biggy with change of year other than a number?!

But I'm not for being a social outcast so I try to blend in and share the love as much as possible so...I do celebrate and mark the changes with the whole world too so...Here it is 2009!

And from myself and my family and all my three blogs I say to everyone a Bright and Reflective New Year filled with Love and its Pure, Clear Light! :)

I also love the Auld Lang Syne song but I also like this ABBA New Year song that was really sung back in the day in 1979 to ring in the new decade of 1980! :) Imagine all that has changed since then! :) But there are History blogs and sites that will chronicle that much better than I! So here is it HAPPY NEW YEAR 1980...ahmmm...I mean 2009! :) So will leave Auld Lang Syne for Universal Collective Prayer and throw the bash with ABBA here! :)

Do You Believe In Reincarnation?

Ok so reincarnation is basically found in all eastern philosophies or religions and for sure it is one of the central concepts around which Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism revolves around. Interestingly though I find many people although they are Hindu for instance and so would very likely have grown up around talk of the belief and stories involving reincarnation really arent that into it or give it much thought. Odd when you'd think it would be at the core of their belief?

I guess it's cause most of the Hindus I know would have grown up in a what I like to call a Christianised kinda Hindu environment you know the kind where they say they are having prayers instead of pooja and refer to the pundit officially as Hindu priest as it reads on my birth certificate for the profession of my father. I guess that's what colonization by the Brits did to Hinduism. But this is not a blog about colonization or bout religion exactly so enough of that and back to the point of reincarnation. I say not exactly because of course reincarnation first came into the global consciousness through religions like Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. However it has gone on to take the shape of a life form on its own hasnt it?

Reincarnation has gone on to become the central focus of New Age philosophies, psychotherapy and hypnosis that uses past life regression to heal people. Long before this incarnation though it had its first emergence on the Christian front when Edgar Cayce was said to believe in reincarnation yet maintained staunch belief in Jesus Christ and the religion founded around him. There continues to be speculation that reincarnation was even part of the original Bible but removed by suppressive priests of the Catholic church. But this blog is not about that either.

What I really want to know is barring whatever faith you grew up on or subscribe to or join in communion with others weekly to give praise to...Do you believe in reincarnation? I mean if you left your past faith or faiths behind and looked at it scientifically and then emotionally from the left brain to the right and then with that third eye of intuition in the middle of both sides of your brain. What you would decide? Would you believe? Well I believe...and I believe on four levels in my case because I start off with a faith that subscribes to it and then when I look left and look right and then straight in the middle I see...

Of course this is just what I see and doesnt mean it is correct or that you see the same as me. But I find it such an interesting area for all of us to explore which is why tonight I sit and write and ask of all who read this to look at with insight. Do you believe? I feel that the universe or the Masters out there have chosen Dr. Brian Weiss for instance to spread the message in recent times because he comes form the West. He is from the white world that is still the current super power and to top it off the white dominated super power land of the United States. And in that super power land he comes form their elite universities and institutions- Yale and Columbia Universities and held in regard by his peers in the American Medical Association. So if we were going to listen to anyone in this world it might be him? Also by picking Dr. Weiss to spread the message they were choosing an original non-believer, one whose first faith into which he was born- Christianity did not preach reincarnation so he started on the other side and crossed the fence. So even more reason to believe him when he says he believes in reincarnation.

This blog is not a blatant plug for Dr. Brian Weiss or any religion faith or philosophy but just was what was on my mind of lately and was wondering what others might thing of it all...I mean Dr. Weiss doesn't need my help certainly I mean he has published many well read books and been on Oprah so doesn't need the help of an unknown blogger anyways. However if anyone reads this and feels to share let me know if to the concept of reincarnation you adhere? Just click yes or no in my little poll to let me know.

Good wishes to all and to all a Good Night!
